Who are we?

The Culturist is a publication by third culture people for third culture people, as well as anyone who is interested in critical analysis of our modern cultural landscape! We are here to take an intersectional approach to engaging with politics, film, and TV and books, and to put them into the broader context of global issues such as the worldwide struggle for decolonisation and depatriarchalisation. You can expect critical dives into everything from superhero films to the K-pop industry in our pop culture-oriented column, The Tea Room, to hot takes on the latest political shenanigans in The Press Room.

What can you expect?

A subscription to The Culturist is free. It will get you one article a week, delivered straight to your inbox. There will occasionally be additional content, depending on the current happenings. We believe in making critical analysis as accessible and easily digestible as possible, so make yourself a cup of tea, sit back and enjoy a hot take on whatever cultural topic interests you most!
